BANGKOK, Dec 4 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will visit flood victims in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat on Dec 7.
It was reported that the prime minister would inspect flooding and give moral support to flood victims and the officials who were helping affected people in the province.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Office Minister Anucha Nakasai said the prime minister assigned him to visit Ranot district of Songkhla province on Dec 5 to observe flood situations and boost the morale of flood victims and rescuers.
According to Mr Anucha, 13 districts of Songkhla were inundated namely Muang, Chana, Sadao, Hat Yai, Khuan Niang, Singha Nakhon, Na Mom, Rattaphum, Bang Klam, Sathing Phra, Ranot, Krasae Sin and Khlong Hoi Khong.
“The prime minister said that the visit must not affect the work of the officials who are helping people. He stressed that the visit will be for the collection of information about the difficulties of people and the facilitation of assistance,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, Teerapat Prayoonsit, permanent secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, said Mr Anucha would decide if the government would raise donations to help southern flood victims.
The Prime Minister’s Office already had its fund to help disaster victims, he said. (TNA)
