CHIANG MAI, Sept 18 (TNA) – Four Chinese experts are expected to arrive in Chiang Mai today for a plan to perform an autopsy on the dead giant panda, Chuang Chuang with a team of Thai veterinarians.
Chinese experts will meet Thai officials to plan for the post –mortem examination to determine the cause of Chuang Chuang’s death.
Chuang Chuang, described as in healthy condition by zoo officials collapsed in his enclosure on September 16. Caretakers failed to resuscitate it and it was pronounced dead.
Sumet Kamolnoranart, deputy director of the Zoological Park Organisation today led officials at Chiang Mai zoo and panda lovers to lay flowers at the panda exhibition zone for the beloved panda, Chuang Chuang after it died of an unknown cause.
Lin Hui, the female panda still stays in her enclosure as normal after the death of Chuang Chuang.
Each of the zoo’s giant pandas has a 15 million baht insurance policy.
Chiang Mai governor and Chinese Consul General will also visit the zoo to join the activity to mourn the death of giant panda. (TNA)
