BANGKOK, March 14 (TNA) – Leaders and key figures of Thai
political parties on Thursday were actively campaigning for votes in provinces
in the lead-up to the March 24 general election and early voting on March 17.
Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Future Forward
Party, campaigned in Bangkok’s Bung Kum, Lat Phrao, Wang Thonglang, Sai Mai and
Bang Khen districts. He also complained about the Election Commission’s plan to
investigate members of the disbanded Thai Raksa Chart Party who told their
supporters to vote for his Future Forward Party instead. He asked if such a
practice was illegal.
Mr Thanathorn also said that his party could work together
with all political parties except the Palang Pracharath Party.
Kanchana Silpa-archa, leader of the Chartthaipattana Party,
campaigned in Dan Chang district of Suphan Buri which is her native province.
She said Suphan Buri was the native province of her late father Banharn so her
party expected victory in all constituencies.
Alongkorn Ponlabutr, deputy leader of the Democrat Party,
went to Lan Sak district of Uthai Thani province. He said his party would solve
poverty and economic problems, promote reforestation, increase people’s
savings, introduce free education and create jobs.
Meanwhile, Dr Rawee Machamadon, leader of the New Palang
Dhamma Party, campaigned in downtown Chiang Mai for his Constituency 1
candidate Pailin Selaman. They promised to solve economic problems. (TNA)
