CHIANG MAI, April 20 (TNA) – After being stranded at an
airport in Thailand’s Chiang Mai city for over one week due to Covid-19
pandemic, a British tourist has been offered free accommodation at a
guesthouse.
The female on-line worker had no money left to cover her
expenditures after the lockdown order.
She relied on food donations from airport staffers while waiting for
money transfers from her employer in the United Kingdom.
The woman told airport officials that she would rather stay
in the airport than seeking helps from the British consular service.
After learning about her ordeal, Chiang Mai Governor
Charoenrit Sa-nguansat coordinated related parties to lend their hands for the
woman.
She has now been given free stay at the guesthouse until she
can secure ticket for her homebound flight. (TNA)
