BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) – The Corrections Department confirmed that the physical condition of detained rally leader Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak was normal except for fatigue due to his partial hunger strike.
It denied the report that he was severely ill and had blood and flesh in his stool.
Thawatchai Chaiwat, deputy director-general of the department, said that this morning Mr Parit’s condition remained normal. He was conscious and able to talk sensibly. He showed only slight fatigue and dry lips due to his hunger strike.
The man could get up and walk to do his everyday routines without dizziness. He continued to reject food and only drank electrolyte-enhanced water and receive fluids through intravenous injection while being under close supervision by doctors and nurses, Mr Thawatchai said.
Mr Thawatchai denied the report that Mr Parit’s condition seriously worsened, saying doctors and nurses checked him daily. (TNA)
