BANGKOK, Sept 27 (TNA) – The Chinese embassy in Bangkok on Thursday night grandly celebrated the National Day of the People’s Republic of China which falls on Oct 1.
The celebration marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It included an exhibition on the history, achievements and future plans of China.
Key figures of Thailand including Parliament President Chuan Leekpai, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-gnam and Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended the celebratory event.
On the occasion, Chinese ambassador to Thailand Lyu Jian said Thailand and China were entering the new chapter of their bilateral ties and it would set a precedent for China’s relations with other countries in the future.
The Thai-Chinese relations were supporting China’s Belt and Road Initiative as well as the Thailand 4.0 initiative and the Eastern Economic Corridor of Thailand, he said.
Apart from the exhibition on past, present and future China, the event included exhibitions from China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co that featured models of Chinese trains from the era of those with diesel locomotives to the time of bullet trains. Visitors can experience the insides of the trains via virtual reality. (TNA)
