RATCHABURI, March 27 (TNA) – A pottery factory in Ratchaburi is making water vessels that will be used for collecting water from sources in 77 provinces for the royal coronation ceremony in May.
Interior Ministry Deputy Permanent Secretary Pornpoj Penpat praised the Rattanakosin 4 pottery factory in Ratchaburi for producing the magnificent water vessels.
Each is decorated with a provincial symbol and the coronation emblem.
During his visit to the factory on Monday, the owner of the factory, Sukchart Kosabordee took him to witness all meticulous production processes.
The first batch of 67 water vessels out of all 125 vessels were handed over to the Interior Ministry and all water containers will be sent to all provinces by March 31.
The ceremony will be conducted on April 6 to collect water and the water consecration ritual will be done at each province’s principle temple on April 8.
The sacred water will be sent to Wat Suthat Thep Wararam in Bangkok for the water consecration ritual again on April 18.
The consecrated water will be brought the ordination hall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in preparation for the royal coronation ceremonies, which includes the purification baht or the Song Phra Muratha Bhisek and the royal anointment or Abhisek. (TNA)
