BANGKOK, Feb 4 (TNA) – Constituency MP candidates from 57 political parties have registered with the Election Commission on Monday morning on the first day of MP candidate application.
Election Commission secretary-general, Jarungwit Phumma said that from 8.30 am. to 1 pm. 4,428 constituency candidates from 57 political parties registered with the EC and the Thai Morality Party is the only party, which submitted the party-list candidates .
Thai Friends Party had incomplete document for the registration, he said.
According to the EC, Democrat Party applied for most constituency candidates of 278 persons, followed by Palang Pracharat of 274.
There has been no violation on the first day of the MP candidate registration which will run until February 8.
EC inspectors have been deployed across the country. Any candidates, violating the law will be given warning. Repeated offenders will face legal action, he said. (TNA)
