BANGKOK, Nov 23 (TNA) – Pope Francis left the Thai capital this morning by a special flight for Tokyo, Japan, concluding his official visit as well as celebrating 350th anniversary of the papal mission in Siam, Thailand was called at that time.
The pope, who arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday, was farewell by Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Foreign Affairs Minister Don Pramudwinai and Culture Minister Ittipol Khunploem as well as devoted Catholics and Thais at the Royal Thai Air Force in Don Mueang.
Beamed with smile and waved to the crowd, the pontiff will pay an official visit to Japan, starting Saturday until next Tuesday.
Pope Francis met His Majesty the King, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand and offering masses during his stay in the country. (TNA)
