BANGKOK, Nov 21 (TNA) — PTT Oil and Retail Business PCL (OR) signed a memorandum of understanding with EV Society Co at PTT headquarters to conduct a comprehensive study on the development of new business related to battery electric vehicles. (BEV).
Buranin Rattanasombat, executive vice president for planning at PTT, said as the use of electric vehicles was increasing worldwide and electric vehicles were launched in Thailand at competitive prices, electric vehicles became another choice for consumers.
Therefore, OR expanded its energy business to cover electric vehicles. It opened EV charging stations at 17 PTT gas stations in the country and was building more charging stations, he said.
Besides, PTT trained its mechanics at its FIT Auto service centers to maintain electric vehicles, produced wall mounted EV chargers under the brand name of Ultra EV for sales and also provided aftersales services.
EV Society Co was the first operator to introduce BEV taxis in the country. It deployed 90 BEV taxis at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.
