BANGKOK, July 6 (TNA) – Thailand on Tuesday reported 57 more Covid-19 deaths and 5,420 new cases.
Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, said there were 5,420 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total infections to 294,653.
He said 65,297 people were receiving treatment at hospitals. They included 2,350 seriously ill patients. Besides, there were 57 new fatalities in 24 hours, raising the death toll to 2,333.
He said that Bangkok had 116 clusters of COVID-19 cases including one new cluster at the Neurological Institute of Thailand in Ratchathewi district.
Cases in the new cluster were confirmed through active case finding late last month. The 47 cases were migrant workers at the cafeteria and medical workers at many departments of the institute. (TNA)
