BANGKOK, July 31 (TNA) – Over 130 literary works of nine ASEAN countries have been selected for a literature promotion programme in Thailand.
The programme launched by the Ministry of Culture will see the ASEAN literature translated into Thai in the next five years.
Minister of Culture Itthipol Kunplome said during the programme opening on Thursday that the cultural learning among ASEAN neighbours would cement peaceful and amicable relationships among the peoples of ASEAN.
The publication of the first literature’s Thai version in this programme is expected at the end of this year.
The embassies of ASEAN countries and literature experts have contributed to the selection of literary works. (TNA)
