BANGKOK, April 7 (TNA) – Thai authorities are mulling to limit the number of Thai returnees at 200 persons per day after the ban on all commercial flights is lifted, said Cherdkiat Atthakor, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesman.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has extended a ban on all commercial flights to Thailand until April 18 to delay Thais planning to return to the country.
In the meantime, the authorities are setting up more effective system, responding to more Thais planning to return home, the ministerial spokesman said.
Among the new measures, related agencies plan to limit the number of Thai returnees at 200 persons per day for systematic and proper management in an effort to curb the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country and to support the 14-day state quarantine measure.
The authorities are considering the implementation of this new measure and will give the guidelines to Thai embassies and consulates to give advice and assistance to Thai citizens abroad, he added. (TNA)
