BANGKOK, Nov 11 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) confirms that Loy Krathong events can be organized nationwide on Nov 19 but they must win permission from their provincial communicable disease committees in advance.
Dr. Sumanee Watcharasin, assistant spokesperson for CCSA, said CCSA approved the organization of Loy Krathong events and divided them into two categories for different degrees of compliance with disease control measures.
The first category contains small events for individuals or families who must implement Universal Prevention measures for personal protection against COVID-19.
The other group concerns large events like those conventionally held in Sukhothai and Chiang Mai provinces. Their organizers must win approval from provincial communicable disease committees beforehand.
“The communicable disease committees of provinces and Bangkok will supervise the organization of events in their respective areas and the events must comply with guidelines and measures set by the Culture Ministry and the Public Health Ministry. The events can be organized nationwide,” Dr. Sumanee said. (TNA)
