BANGKOK, Dec 9 (TNA) – Thai naval oarsmen on Monday
conducted the final rehearsal for the Royal Barge Procession, a part of His
Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s coronation scheduled for Thursday (Dec12).
The Royal Thai Navy is responsible for the elaborate
procession of 52 royal barges along the Chao Phraya River.
Over 2,200 oarsmen have rehearsed more than 10 times on
about four-kilometer route for the procession that has been rescheduled from
October 24 due to strong tides.
The full dress rehearsal started at 1.30 pm from Ta Wasukri
Pier near the Grand Palace.
Meanwhile the government and the Bangkok Metropolitan
Administration have made preparations to accommodate people who wish to attend
the audience.
Various locations along the river have been prepared for
people’s access to view the procession.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to witness the historic
