BANGKOK, March 29 (TNA) — Two energy state enterprises – the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and PTT Plc – introduced their innovation on energy, especially electric vehicles and biodiesel.
EGAT unveiled 11 electric buses used at its offices and power plants as well as 23 charging stations at eight locations comprising power plants in Ayutthaya, Lampang, Khon Kaen, Chachoengsao, Songkhla, Nakhon Ratchasima and Ubon Ratchathani provinces and its headquarters in Nonthaburi province. The charging stations will offer free services to general people for one year starting on April 1.
EGAT is also modifying used buses and cars into electric vehicles. The bus modification is still in its prototype stage while the service for cars is commercial but its cost is high, at up to 700,000 baht per car.
Meanwhile, PTT Innovation Institute in Ayutthaya province showed off its achievements on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
They included research and development for petroleum and petrochemical products, solar and wind power, batteries, biotechnology, energy plants, smart materials and pure biodiesel. (TNA)
