BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) — Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon was grateful towards all parties that helped ensure the smooth organization of the general election on March 24 and ordered security authorities to maintain national order.
Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantrawanit, spokesman of the Defence Ministry, said Gen Prawit expressed his gratitude towards security authorities including the military, the police and administrative officials, for supporting the Election Commission (EC) in organizing the general election successfully. His instruction especially went to the police who would have to support the post-election justice system in an impartial manner, the spokesman said.
Gen Prawit also praised voters for their high turnout and new voters for their eagerness in political participation that promoted political development, Lt Gen Kongcheep said.
Gen Prawit believed that all parties would take the opportunity to develop the nation amid the democratic and peaceful atmosphere, the spokesman said. (TNA)
