RATCHABURI, March 20 (TNA) – Ratchaburi province will hold the annual Tourism Fair and the Red Cross Fair from March 27-31, where famous handicrafts will be showcased.
Sareeya Boonmark, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ratchaburi office said that the TAT will organize the activities to stimulate tourism in secondary destinations.
The fairs will be organized at the Chalermprakiat Park and the Ratchaburi Gymnasium.
Highlights of the fair are demonstrations of unique local handicrafts such dragon water jars and Wat Khanon Nang Yai shadow play. Food, agriculture produce, OTOP products and souvenirs will be sold at the fair. Orchids will be on display.
Miss Water Jar beauty pageant will be held for contestants, weighing over 80 kg.
About two million tourists visited the province last year, generating four billion baht in tourism revenue, up 12.58 per cent year-on-year.
Most tourists were Thai people but it is expected more foreign tourists from China, Laos and Europe will come this year. (TNA)
