TAK, Dec 25 (TNA) – About 100 illegal migrants were arrested at their makeshift shelters in Mae Sot district and would be repatriated.
About 100 soldiers, police and administrative officials raided a landfill of Mae Sot municipality and a land plot in Lang Mae Dao Moei community in response to complaints about the gatherings of a large number of migrants there.
Authorities found many illegal migrants lived in their makeshift shelters in the deserted areas covered with many trees. Many illegal migrants tried to escape in vain.
About 100 illegal migrants were arrested and many of them were ill and starving. Officials then gave them food, water and medicine before interrogating them.
All of them would be deported later. (TNA)
