BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) — Thailand Post Co opened the world’s first secured airmail service outlet for airlines at Suvarnabhumi airport.
Thailand Post president Smorn Terdthampiboon said the new service received Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT)’s security certification based on security standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The new service that was the first of its kind in the world assured that airmails were safe for airlines to transport them, she said.
According to her, the new service guarantees safety standards concerning people, buildings and airmails. Senders’ profiles are recorded and each airmail is x-rayed for three times before sending to planes.
CAAT governor Chula Sukmanop said the new service would reduce the problems of airlines rejecting airmails and related delays of flights. (TNA)
