BANGKOK, Feb 16 (TNA) – Thailand’s Election Commission (EC) has qualified a total of 2,810 party-list candidates from 77 political parties to contest the March 24 general elections.
Of the total 2,917 party-list registered candidates, 107 were disqualified.
The EC on Friday also qualified 68 prime ministerial candidates from 44 parties. One candidate was disqualified on grounds of being imprisoned while another received education less than bachelor’s degree.
Disqualified candidates can submit petition to the Supreme Court within seven days.
The names of qualified constituency candidates were posted in their own constituencies. Eligible voters can also check the name lists on the “SMART VOTE” mobile application. (TNA)
