BANGKOK, Feb 5 (TNA) – The Mass Rapid Transit Authority is installing sprinklers at its electric railway construction sites to spray water and reduce hazardous fine dust.
The state enterprise and its contractors started the measure at the construction sites of the Orange Line project from the Thailand Cultural Centre to Min Buri district.
The sprinklers were installed at Thailand Cultural Centre station, MRTA station, Wat Phraram 9 station, a depot on Watthanatham Road and Sports Authority of Thailand station on Ramkhaemhaeng Road.
The MRTA is installing sprinklers at construction sites along the Green Line route from Mo Chit to Khu Khot. Sprinklers are in place at Ratchayothin station.
The installation responds to the Transport Ministry’s policy to reduce particulate matter with 2.5 micrometers or less in diameter for the sake of public health. (TNA)
