BANGKOK, Feb 6 (TNA) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has given away face masks at BTS Skytrain stations following complaints over the shortage of face masks in the wake of the new coronavirus situation.
Bangkok Governor ordered officials from BMA’s health department and district offices to hand out face masks to commuters from Feb 5-9 twice a day at 7-9 am. and 4-7 pm.
At the BTS Asok station, 1,000 face masks ran out in 50 minutes this morning.
Face masks will be also handed out other BTS stations – Siam, Ekkamai, Mor Chit, Ha Yeak Lat Phrao, Bangk Wa, Sala Daeng as well as at the BMA’s 68 public health service centres.
Authorities received complaints over the lack of face masks and overpriced sales.
The cabinet this week put face masks and alcohol-based hand sanitiser on the state price control list, effective on Thursday.
Sellers and manufacturers are required to report their supplies to the Internal Trade Department. (TNA)
