BANGKOK, Dec 27 (TNA) – People want to spend their New Year countdown moment with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and rocker Artiwara Kongmalai, aka Toon Body Slam, according to a survey by Bangkok University.
The survey on 1,145 people in greater Bangkok on their New Year holiday wishes found that 74.6% of respondents would travel and 25.4% would remain home. About 22% will go shopping and eat out.
The survey showed that 67.6% were concerned about traffic congestion, 60.7% on traffic accidents and 40% on crowded tourist destinations.
On safety concerns, 80.3% wanted authorities to tackle drunk drivers, 57.3% were worried about speed limit violators, and 42.5% emphasized demand for good roads and alternative routes.
Asked with which politicians respondents would like to spend the New Year countdown moment, 15.1% mentioned Prime Minister Prayut, 7.6% Future Forward Party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, and 1.8% former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
For their most favorite stars to stay with during the countdown, 8.2% picked Toon Body Slam, 7.2% actress Patcharapa “Aum” Chaichua, and 6.8% singer Thongchai “Bird” McIntyre.
Asked about their favorite countdown venues, 31% chose Buddhist temples, 19.1% Tha Phae ancient gate in Chiang Mai province, 13.6% CentralWorld shopping center, 11.7% Pattaya, and 11.2% Phuket.
However, 63.1% said they would not go out for a countdown event while the rest said they would. (TNA)
