NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, Oct 21 (TNA) – The Khao Luang National Park has closed six waterfalls for safety reasons in the wake of accumulated rain and strong current.
Head of the Khao Luang National Park, Wikran Tuadao said six waterfalls in five districts have been closed. They are Phrom Lok and Ai Khieo in Phrom Khiri district; Karom in Lansaka district; Tha Phae in Chang Klang district; Krung Ching in Nop Phitam district, and Nua Fa in Phipun district.
Several days of heavy downpour on mountains has increased the amount of water in waterways in the national park and the water has flowed rapidly and turned turbid.
Officials have closely monitored the water situation around the clock.
Local residents in low-lying areas along Klong Na Muang canal in the Nakhon Si Thammarat municipality has prepared for possible flooding as it rains sporadically with a cloudy sky. (TNA)
