NONG KHAI, Oct 23 (TNA) – Authorities in Nong Khai prepare tents for visitors to the Naga fireball phenomenon in the Mekong River at the end of the Buddhist Lent period.
In Nong Khai, volunteers set up tents in the field of the Defence Volunteer Company to accommodate the visitors who are unable to reserve accommodations during the phenomenon period.
Local hotels have been fully reserved. Some frequent visitors always stayed overnight at the volunteer company and brought their own tents.
There is also a dormitory with bedding for the visitors who do not like camping. There are toilets and a vast parking area manned around the clock by security guards.
Naga fireballs, also known as Mekong lights, are glowing balls allegedly rising naturally from the Mekong River into the sky on days at the end of the Buddhist Lent period. (TNA)
