SURAT THANI, March 17 (TNA) – Bryde’s whales were seen feeding off Ang Thong islands in Surat Thani province.
Following tourists’ report on sighting the whales between Hanuman and Thai Phlao islands, a team of Natawat Nuisriram, chief of the Ang Thong National Marine Park, went offshore to take their pictures and collect their information.
The team first recognized two Bryde’s whales earlier identified as Wandee and its baby Chao Wanyood. It then saw two other Bryde’s whales also feeding in the boundary of the Ang Thong National Marine Park.
The officials had yet to identify the two other whales based on their database. They encouraged tourism operators, tourists and fishermen to help protect the rare whales. (TNA)
