BANGKOK, Oct 1 (TNA) — The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Thursday reported five new cases in state quarantine.
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration said among the new cases during the past 24 hours was a Brazilian volleyball player and his wife, both 28 years old, who arrived from Brazil on Monday.
The couple stayed at an alternative state quarantine facility in Bangkok and tested positive a day after their arrival. They were asymptomatic and were eventually admitted at a private hospital in Bangkok.
Another is a 26-year-old asymptomatic Filipino. He arrived on September 23 and stayed at an alternative state quarantine facility in Bangkok. His infection was confirmed by the second test on Tuesday.
The fourth was a 48 year-old Thai freelance worker. He returned from Iran on September 24 and was quarantined in Chon Buri province.
His infection was confirmed by the first test. He had no symptoms but was admitted to a hospital in Chon Buri.
The last new case is a 41 year-old Indian businessman who arrived last Friday. He had suffered a sore throat on Saturday and a fever on Sunday. His first test confirmed the infection and he was admitted to a private hospital in Bangkok. He was in the same flight as two previously confirmed cases.
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Thailand has now increased to 3,569 while 3,379 have recovered, including five people discharged over the past 24 hours. The centre added that 131 are in hospital. The death toll was unchanged at 59. (TNA)
