BANGKOK, June 11 (TNA) – The Cabinet has approved a draft regulation proposed by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) to implement a new fare structure for the Blue Line MRT, effective July 3, 2024.
The new fare structure will range from 17 to 45 baht per trip, reflecting the adjustment for inflation every 24 months as stipulated in the contractual agreement.
According to Ms. Kenikar Unjit , Deputy Government Spokesperson, the current fare structure starts at 16 baht and goes up to 43 baht. The new fare structure will maintain the minimum fare at 17 baht, while the maximum fare will increase to 45 baht.
The new fare structure reflects the changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), based on data provided by the Office of Policy and Strategy for Trade, Ministry of Commerce.
The new Blue Line MRT fare structure will range from 17 baht for trips up to 9 stations to 45 baht for journeys spanning 12 stations or more. -819 (TNA)
