BANGKOK, July 20 (TNA) – The Department of Disease Control signed a contract with Pfizer (Thailand) and BioNTech to buy 20 million doses of their COVID-19 vaccine that were set to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.
Pfizer and BioNTech announced the contract signing this morning. They did not elaborate on the other details of the contract apart from the amount of the ordered doses and the delivery timeframe in the fourth quarter.
There were reports that Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, and Deborah Seifert, Pfizer’s country manager for Thailand and Indochina, signed the contract.
Present at the signing ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Public Health Minister Sathit Pitutecha and Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit, permanent secretary for public health. (TNA)
