BANGKOK, Dec 6 (TNA) – Five roads were closed in Yaowarat area for activities to honour kings of the Chakri Dynasty.
The Royal Gazette announced the road closure to facilitate exhibitions and activities that associations of people of the Chinese origin including the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the National Tae Chew Association planned in Yaowarat area on Dec 6-8.
On Dec 6, Yaowarat Road from Odeon Roundabout to Wat Tuek intersection, Charoen Krung Road from SAB intersection to Khao Lam Road, Rama IV Road from Hua Lamphong intersection to Mo Mi intersection, Ratchawong Road from between Ratchawong and Suea Pa intersections and Mitraphap Thai-Chinese Road were closed from noon to 8pm.
A big LED tunnel installed on Yaowarat Road will show the work contributions of kings of the Chakri Dynasty.
Their Majesties the King and Queen were set to open the special activities and visit Wat Traimit, Odeon Roundabout, Thian Fah Foundation, and Wat Mangkon Kamalawat.
There will be Thai-Chinese cultural parades, dragon and lion dances, floats in honor of the royal institution, and street foods. (TNA)
