BANGKOK, Oct 9 (TNA) – A Taiwanese man has been sentenced
for life imprisonment for trying to smuggle 5.6 kilograms of heroin to Taiwan
in April.
Chen Kuan Lin, 38, was arrested at Don Mueang Airport on
April 26, 2019, after he was found to have possessed heroin hidden in 18 talcum
powder containers.
Police accused him of attempting to smuggle the drug to
Taiwan for sale.
The Criminal Court on Wednesday handed down the Taiwanese
death sentence but commuted to life imprisonment citing his cooperation in the
investigation and confession to the crime.(TNA)
