BANGKOK,
August 16 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has vowed to push ahead with
education reform and support for education development.
Gen
Prayut made his remarks during his meeting with a group of students
representing Thailand in the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad.
Sukij
Limpijanong, director of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science
and Technology (IPST), led 51 students and teachers to report on the
competition results.
Thailand
won six gold, 12 silver and four bronze medals at the Olympiad.
The
premier said Thailand’s success in the international competition proved Thai youth’s
excellent academic capabilities.
The
government was aware that the country’s development required capable human
resources, therefore, education reform was being implemented, he said.
Gen
Prayut also gave moral support for the students, wishing them to keep up with
their academic performances. (TNA)
