BANGKOK, June 6 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen. Prayut
Chan-ocha thanked all sides for the smooth prime minister vote by the combined
Houses of Parliament yesterday as he vowed to do his best for the country.
Deputy government spokesman Werachon Sukondhapatipak
said Gen. Prayut thanked the House Speaker, Senate Speaker and members of both
Houses for their support and also the people for the recent successful
election.
The prime minister reiterated that the majority
votes came from elected MPs before it was combined with the votes from
senators. He would do his best in carrying out his duties for the nation,
religions, the monarch and the people, Werachon said.
He also thanked some MPs who did not vote for him
but did their job well as representatives of the people.
From now on, he wanted all parties to work together for
the benefit of the country and the people. There are many problems, awaiting to
be addressed and lessons from the past should be learnt in the present.
He asked the people to participate in the political
reform and administration for the country to move forward to stability,
prosperity and sustainability. (TNA)
