BANGKOK, May 27 (TNA) — The Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and JSP Pharmaceutical Manufactory (Thailand) Plc plan to develop and export marijuana extract.
Both parties signed an agreement for their research and development of marijuana extract for export to foreign drug companies.
Permsuk Sajjapiwat, inspector-general of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, witnessed the signing.
Under the three-year agreement, the company will produce marijuana raw material and TISTR will develop a process to extract pure active substances like Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD).
The two organizations will seek permission to do so from the Food and Drug Administration within this month and expect to obtain a license within this year. (TNA)
