BANGKOK, March 24 (TNA) — Bangkok governor Aswin Khwanmuang said he expected to know unofficial results of election in the capital before 9pm.
Pol Gen Aswin cast his vote at the 4th polling unit in Debsirin School at about 8.15am. He said he discussed election preparation with executives of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on March 23 and they found it smooth and all polling units were ready. He said that unofficial results of the general election in Bangkok should be reported at 8-9pm.
The Bangkok governor encouraged eligible voters in the capital to exercise their rights, saying the country did not belong to any particular person and people should take part in shaping national future by voting for their favorite candidates and seeing them govern.
City clerk Silpasuay Raweesaengsoon cast her ballot at Bannongborn School in Prawet district. She said people arrived for the election in the morning and overall situations were favorable. She expected voters’ turnout at 80% as targeted. (TNA)
