BANGKOK, Feb 2 (TNA) – The Bangkok Aviation Center (BAC), a private aviation training center sent small planes to sprayed water over RamaII Road in an attempt to improve air quality in Bangkhuntien district.
Each of three small planes, carrying 150 litres of water and sprayed water above the same area one by one on Saturday morning.
In the afternoon, eight small planes sprayed water above RamaII Road for a total distance of 20 kilometres simultaneously many times.
Wg.Cdr. Paht Winmoon, BAC chief operation officer announced that the morning operation was considered successful as it could reduce ultra-fine dust particles by about 30 per cent in Bangkhuntien.
An evaluation on today’s operation to contain PM2.5 particulate matter will be conducted for improvement in the next mission.
It will later discuss with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration whether the similar operation will be expanded to other areas of Bangkok. (TNA)
