KANCHANABURI, Nov 7 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is visiting Kanchanaburi to follow up on progress of various operations, including solving river encroachment problems.
Gen. Prayut visited a printing plant, which is the 2nd oldest printing plant in Thailand and was used for producing papers and bank notes during WWII.
He then took a tram to the riverside Pak Praek Road Community in Muang district before taking a boat ride to visit local residents along the River Kwai.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to chair the launching of “Green Army Green Farmer” project, a cooperative project for agriculture and food safety that uses areas in the military compound as production base.
The project is aimed at promoting large-scale farming, organic and sustainable agriculture, as well as to empower local communities and grassroots economy. (TNA)
