NAKHON PATHOM, Sept 20 (TNA) – Police have apprehended a man,” an ex-convict, for the murder of a female Bolt driver in Nakhon Pathom province.
The suspect, identified as Narongsak, 35, allegedly strangled the victim and abandoned her body before selling her car.
Background checks revealed that Narongsak was recently released from prison. He previously made headlines in August 2010 for chaining and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl for a week.
The victim, Thitirat, 47, was found dead in a grassy area along Huai Plu – Nakhon Chai Si Road. Relatives reported that she had picked up a male passenger for a trip to Nakhon Pathom on September 10 and subsequently lost contact.
Following the discovery of the body, authorities noted that the victim’s black MG car was missing. Police traced the vehicle’s movement to Nakhon Sawan and finally to Phuket, where it was found being driven by a woman who claimed her mother had purchased it for a low price from someone who mentioned a foul odor in the car.
Investigators identified Narongsak as the prime suspect based on his criminal history, which includes multiple theft charges and an outstanding arrest warrant from Min Buri Criminal Court for motorcycle theft.
Narongsak was arrested in Mueang district, Nakhon Pathom. Initially denying involvement, he later confessed to strangling the victim with a phone charging cable after luring her to stop the car under the pretense of motion sickness. He then drove the stolen vehicle to Nakhon Sawan in an attempt to sell it.
Nakhon Chai Si police are expected to question him regarding the murder and conduct a crime reenactment in Nakhon Pathom later today. -819 (TNA)
