BANGKOK, July 3 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha
urges Thai-American youths to strengthen bonds between the US and their
motherland.
The group of young Thai-Americans has participated in the
12th Thai American Youth Heritage Programme, an initiative first started in
2004 to bring Americans born to Thai parents and raised in the US to visit
Thailand and learn about Thai heritage.
Prayut gave a warm welcome to the young American at
Government House in Bangkok on Wednesday.
The premier said the biannual programme was organised in an
auspicious year of the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. He told the participants to learn every dimension
of “Thai ways” during the visit.
“I hope you will take this experience to build up good image
of Thailand in the American society and create friendship for good relations
between the two countries,” he told the gathering.
Prayut said his new government would be formed and
officially installed this month.(TNA)
