BANGKOK, April 17 (TNA) – Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, secretary-general of the Future Forward Party, showed up at the Technology Crime Suppression Division and acknowledged the charges of contempt of court and inputting false information to a computer system in relation to his remarks on the disbandment of the Thai Raksa Chart Party.
Mr Piyabutr arrived at the police division at 10am. The division called him for the charges after Col Burin Thongpraphai of the National Council for Peace and Order had filed a complaint on the alleged offences. Many supporters showed up for him and a representative of the National Human Rights Commission observed his arrival at the division.
On the occasion, Mr Piyabutr said that the matter would not have any impact on his party.
Pol Col Siriwat Deepor, deputy commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, said the division would fairly treat Mr Piyabutr who would be released after interrogation. He also said that no representatives of any embassies sought to observe the presence of Mr Piyabutr today. (TNA)
