BANGKOK, Feb 8 (TNA) – The Office of the Election Commission (EC) kicked off its campaigns for people to exercise their voting rights and promote fair competition in the March 24 general election.
With its campaigns, the office intended to raise public awareness of the upcoming election. Many people attended the campaign-launching event. There was an exhibition on voting-related procedures and precautions as well as possible rulings related to the election.
Besides, the Election Commission had leaders of political parties sign a declaration to support a transparent and fair election and introduced celebrities to help it promote the general election. They included Miss Thailand 2018 Pichapa Limsnukan, show host Panadda Wongphudee, Muay Thai boxer Buakaw Banchamek and some singers.
EC chairman Ittiporn Boonprakong said the campaigns would gain momentums from March 1 to 23 and the EC office together with other organizations would use various media including communication towers and democracy promotion centers to encourage 51 million eligible voters nationwide to exercise their rights.
