BANGKOK, Nov 8 (TNA) – Sawai Pattano, former justice minister died of natural causes at the age of 85.
Sawai, who is also several-times Songkhla MP died at Songkhlanagarind Hospital at 1am on Thursday.
The bathing rite is scheduled at the Khok Nao temple in Songkhla’s Hat Yai district at 4 pm today. The nightly recitation ceremonies will continue throughout Sunday before the symbolic royally sponsored cremation ceremony on Nov 12. His body will be donated to Songkhlanagarind Hospital.
Mr Sawai was born on October 1, 1934. He graduated from Thammasat University’s Faculty of Law. He entered politics as Songkhla MP of the Democrat Party in 1975.
He served as deputy House speaker and deputy interior minister, deputy transport minister and justice minister before he ended his political career in 1995. (TNA)
