BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) — The spokesman of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) confirmed the government introduced the Thai Chana application via the LINE Chat application and users’ privacy was guaranteed.
CCSA spokesman Dr Taweesin Visanoyothin said the Thai Chana application was official and was introduced for public relations and contacts with the people who might be infected with COVID-19.
Regarding the reopening of department stores on May 17, Dr Taweesin said people cooperated well with disease control measures and appeared relaxed and their spending would help support the economy.
He said that the Thai Chana application would be further developed for efficiency and information gathered from the application would rest temporarily with only the Department of Disease Control that would use it to contact the people who risked COVID-19 infection.
“The Thai Chana application allows convenient contacts with the people who risk contracting COVID-19. It does not violate personal rights. The system quickly identifies targets and solves problems. If the second-phase relaxation of disease control measures goes on well for 14 days, the third phase that many shops are waiting will follow safely,” the CCSA spokesman said. (TNA)
