SONGKHLA,
May 4 (TNA) – The Office of the Chularatchamontri allows Muslims to resume
salah
prayers at mosques on Fridays while performing social distancing and wearing face masks.
The
office
had banned Friday salah prayers at mosques from March 17 to help
contain the coronavirus disease 2019. At the latest development, it
allows Muslims to resume the prayers.
The
office
requires the management of mosques or health officials to provide hand
wash gel at the entrances of mosques. Muslims are banned from using
basins collectively at mosques. The places must be cleaned before and
after Friday prayers. Their air-conditioners must
be turned off and prayers must be 1-2 meters apart.
Besides,
prayers must perform their salah bath at home, use personal mats and
always wear face masks. They are banned from greetings by shaking hands,
hugging and kissing cheeks. Children and women are not allowed to pray
at mosques on Fridays.
Those who cough or have
a sore throat or runny nose are denied entry at mosques.
All
religious and other activities
that
would gather crowds and feasting after fasting are prohibited. (TNA)
