NONTHABURI, Nov 18 (TNA) — Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon opened Defense & Security 2019, Asia’s biggest exhibition of military and security technologies.
The opening ceremony on the ground by a lake in the Muang Thong Thani estate, Nonthaburi, was the biggest outdoor event of its kind in the region. The exhibition showed military and security technologies covering army, air force and navy. High-level officials from ASEAN member states and ASEAN’s dialogue partners attended the opening ceremony.
There was a video presentation on Thai armed forces’ exercises and peace-keeping missions with other counties as well as the weaponry that the Thai Defence Ministry produced and planned to produce including drones, warfare simulation systems and wheeled armoured personnel carriers.
The opening ceremony also included the demonstrations of land, water and air military operations including anti-terrorism, hostage rescue and disaster relief operations and the demonstrations of wheeled armoured personnel carriers that Thailand produced.
At the Challenger building of the IMPACT exhibition and convention complex in the Muang Thong Thani estate, there was an international seminar on the impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) on security and safety. International speakers were there to share their views useful for the direction of the defense industry.
