BANGKOK, Oct 2 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on
Wednesday joined volunteers in cleaning the landscape of the Chao Phraya River
as part of the preparation for the royal barge procession on October 24.
Gen Prayut, his wife, Naraporn, and Cabinet ministers took
part in the campaign to improve the landscape along the River, starting from
Santi Chaiprakan public park.
The prime ministers collected garbage and sprayed
high-pressure water to clean river embankment.
Besides the royal barge procession on October 24, this month
Thailand also commemorates the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and King
Chulalongkorn Memorial Day.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has been
working to prepare of the royal barge procession, in which King Maha
Vajiralongkorn will travel for a merit-making ceremony.
Volunteers have joined hand to clean up the riverside
landscape and facilities on both sides of the river as the BMA has worked to
accommodate spectators at the gracious royal ceremony.(TNA)
