BANGKOK, Sept 30 (TNA) – The Culture Ministry opened its Digital Culture website that gathers big data related to Thai cultures, arts, histories and religions.
Announcing the launch, Culture Minister Itthiphol Kunplome said the Digital Culture data centre presented more than 300,000 entries of information gathered from organizations under the Culture Ministry, partners and people’s organizations. They include information on Thai histories, about 9,000 archaeological sites, Wold Heritage sites and registration, museums and nearly 40,000 temples.
The big database also gathered information about cultures, communities, learning centres, and religious activities, he said.
People can access the Digital Culture site via computers and smartphones at http://digital.m-culture.go.th.
The development of the database started last year and benefited public education because there was a search mechanism for users, Mr Itthiphol said. (TNA)
