AYUTTHAYA, May 16 (TNA) – A durian vendor in Ayutthaya, Thailand, has captured attention with an unusual sales tactic: a claw machine filled with the pungent fruit.
For just 10 baht (about $0.27), customers can try their luck at winning a whole durian.
Ms. Saranya, 33, who previously sold durian at a local market, repurposed an unused toy claw machine to create the automated vendor. Each durian in the machine costs 250 baht (around $6.80) and weighs at least 1.4 kilograms.
Inspired by overseas claw machine trends, Ms. Saranya allows customers to play for 10 baht per attempt.
Some have won with as little as 20-30 baht, and she guarantees a durian to anyone who spends 250 baht, even without a successful grab. -819 (TNA)
