BANGKOK, Jan 14 (TNA) – Thailand reported two more Covid-19 deaths and 271 new infections.
The new cases comprised 259 local infections and 12 arrivals from abroad. The country’s total coronavirus cases rose to 11,262.
More 717 cases recovered in the past 24 hours and 3,533 cases are being treated in hospitals.
With two more deaths, the total death toll from Covid-18 rose to 69.
The first one was a 71-year-old British man, who had underlying health conditions including lung cancer, diabetes and Thyroid disease. He arrived from London on Dec 7 and entered alternative state quarantine. He fell ill on Dec 11 and was diagnosed with pneumonia at a private hospital before he died yesterday.
The other death was a 53-year-old man with diabetes. He travelled in a car to several provinces including Chanthaburim Chon Buri and Phetchaburi between Dec 26-30.
He had a fever, headache, coughing and phlegm. He was admitted to a hospital in Nonthaburi on Jan 5 and tested positive for Covid-19 and died on Jan 10. (TNA)
